Exhibition Manuals are the bane of exhibitors' lives and the bane of organisers' lives. The reality is the organiser is not creating the manual just to create hard work for the exhibitor. They are doing it because there is a series of processes which must be gone through to benefit from the live environment. Whether that's risk assessment, health and safety, ordering electrics or the fascia board on your stand. One of the key things to remember as an exhibitor is the later you do that (1) the less you are benefitting from the value it gives and (2) you may well be surcharged. If possible, the moment you receive the manual get through as much of it as you can. That part of the hard work will then move to one side and you can concentrate on unlocking the value. And I say this to every exhibitor who is in a show run by a smaller organiser with a smaller organising team, the longer you leave filling in the form in your manual, the more work you are giving your organiser to do in technical logistical and operational terms, the less work, therefore, they are doing marketing the show which is actually the part of the process you re paying them for. Help your organiser, help you. Fill in the forms in your manual.
